it is now impossible to run "make install" on 1.2.11. The configure artifacts were removed, but so was autogen.sh. Without this we can not run make install any more.
This is the commit that broke things:

I don't think you need autogen.sh? I think you can just use autoreconf -fiv in the directory and it works. I just tried this and it worked for me.
