During an upgrade, if the AES plugin is not present the update script bails. But the upgrade removes the libdes-plugin library. Since the script did not complete the DES plugin still points to the old libdse-plugin library, which was removed, and this prevents the server from starting.
The script should create the AES plugin entry if it is not present.
