#48173 RFE: Add MODIFYALLRUV task
Closed: wontfix 4 years ago by mreynolds. Opened 8 years ago by nhosoi.

1. Proposed title of this feature request

Add a new task MODIFYALLRUV

3. What is the nature and description of the request?

Customer has 4 RHDS server (2 master & 2 slaves), all of them having 6
instances running and have 6 repliation agreements for each intance (3 on
Master1 and 3 on Master 2).
The bigger instance is about 1 million entries so, they prefer to do a hostname
without re-initializing the servers.

4. Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements here)

Customer cannot re-initialize all servers, due to the eccesive downtime
required during re-initialization.

5. How would the customer like to achieve this? (List the functional
requirements here)

Have an option in directory server to modify the RUV entries so chaning
hostname can be done with less down time.

6. For each functional requirement listed, specify how Red Hat and the customer
can test to confirm the requirement is successfully implemented.

During a hostname change, no need to re-initialize servers.

7. Is there already an existing RFE upstream or in Red Hat Bugzilla?
I could not find any.

8. Does the customer have any specific timeline dependencies and which release
would they like to target?

Customer is currnetly running RHDS8, I'm trying to convince them about the
current status (phase2)

9. Is the sales team involved in this request and do they have any additional
input? NO

10. List any affected packages or components. redhat-ds/389-ds-base

Per triage, push the target milestone to 1.3.6.
