#47849 Leading/trailing spaces in password ignored
Opened 4 years ago by dkupka. Modified 2 years ago

Setting up directory server using INF file with password that contains space (' ', ASCII 32) and ends with space.
The setup is done successfully but authentication with specified password fails. When the trailing space is omitted authentication is successful.

$ sudo /usr/sbin/setup-ds.pl --silent -f setup_err.inf
Your new DS instance 'vm-112' was successfully created.
Exiting . . .
Log file is '/tmp/setupIFDg_q.log'

$ ldapsearch -D "cn=Directory Manager" -w "0123 456 "
ldap_bind: Invalid credentials (49)

$ ldapsearch -D "cn=Directory Manager" -w "0123 456"

Additionaly, in interactive setup any password containing space is rejected as invalid. So there is at least some inconsistency in the setup script behavior.

Setting to FUTURE.
